Bangladesh’s U19 cricket team secured a thrilling two-wicket victory over Afghanistan in the fifth and final Youth ODI, leveling the five-match series 2-2 in front of a jubilant home crowd.

Chasing a target of 209 set by Afghanistan U19, the hosts reached 211 for 8 in 45.5 overs. Despite a strong fight from the Afghan bowlers, Bangladesh held their nerve to seal the win with four overs to spare.

Earlier, after winning the toss and opting to bat first, Afghanistan posted a competitive total of 208 for 8 in their allotted 50 overs. Usman Sadat was the standout performer with a composed 68 off 100 balls. He was well-supported by Mahboob Khan (40 off 65) and Uzirullah Niazi (32 off 34), who helped stabilize the innings after early setbacks.

For Bangladesh, pacer Tamim claimed 2 wickets for 33 runs, while Wahid Zadran also chipped in with 4 overs for 25 runs.

In response, Bangladesh’s batters kept the scoreboard ticking steadily, despite losing regular wickets. With strong support from their lower middle-order, they ultimately chased down the target to claim a narrow win.

This result means both teams end the five-match Youth ODI series with two wins each, as one match was abandoned earlier due to weather.
