Afghanistan will host Uzbekistan in a one-off Twenty20 international friendly in Khost on July 10, the Afghanistan Cricket Board (ACB) announced on Saturday.

The match will be played at the Rahmat Wali Masroori Cricket Ground during the 11th edition of the e& Shpageeza Cricket League 2026, with the Afghan XI taking on the visiting Uzbek side. The game is scheduled to begin at 9 a.m. Kabul time.

The ACB said the fixture is part of a Cricket Development Support Memorandum of Understanding with the Cricket Federation of Uzbekistan in December 2025, aimed at strengthening cricket in Uzbekistan.

Afghanistan has emerged as one of the leading cricket nations in the region over the past decade, while Uzbekistan is seeking to develop its cricket program with support from neighboring countries and international partners.

The match will be held at a time that women in the country are banned from all forms of sports, including cricket.
