Three million children suffering from malnutrition in Afghanistan, WFP reports

The World Food Programme (WFP) reports that three million children in Afghanistan are malnourished. Due to budget constraints, the organization said it can assist only one in every three children in need.

“Children bear the brunt of the assistance cuts,” WFP Afghanistan stated on X. “Sustained funding is vital.”

This follows a warning from the UN Office for the Coordination of Humanitarian Affairs (OCHA) that over 23 million people in Afghanistan require humanitarian assistance.
