Pakistan deports over 750 Afghan migrants amid ongoing expulsions

ISLAMABAD, Pakistan — As Islamabad continues its deportation of undocumented immigrants, 756 Afghan migrants were repatriated to Afghanistan on Monday, Jan. 22, Pakistani media outlets report.

To date, a total of 473,556 Afghan nationals have been returned to Afghanistan, according to these reports.

Additionally, the Taliban-run Ministry of Refugees stated that over 300 Afghan migrants were deported from Pakistan via the Torkham border crossing, while another 184 were expelled through the Spin Boldak crossing on the same day.

The ongoing deportation of Afghan migrants from Pakistan has raised concerns about their welfare upon return to Afghanistan. Many of these individuals lack homes or relatives in the country and have left behind their livelihoods, including businesses, in Pakistan.
