Two Afghan wrestlers win bronze at World Championships in UAE

Afghan wrestlers Mirwais Ebrahimi and Karimullah Alizi earned bronze medals at the 23rd edition of the World Wrestling Championships, currently underway in the United Arab Emirates.

Competing in the freestyle category, both athletes advanced to the medal rounds after securing victories over competitors from the Maldives, Iran, Hong Kong and India.

Ebrahimi defeated opponents from the Maldives and Iran, while Alizi notched wins against wrestlers from Hong Kong and India. Both athletes fell short in their bouts against Tajik competitors, narrowly missing out on the finals.

The tournament has drawn participation from 35 countries.
