Taliban said three local residents and one employee of a mining company were killed in fighting in Chah Ab district.
“We have no roads, no dams, no clinics or hospitals. Everything is being looted," said a Takhar resident.
“We are here to seek justice,” said Hibatullah, a resident of Chah Ab.
Sources said that at least six people, including five residents and one employee of the mining company, were killed in.
Taliban have since cordoned off parts of the mining area in a section of the district known locally as Samti.
At least three local residents were wounded in the fighting, sources said.
“The two sides called for more visible and verifiable actions to dismantle and eliminate all terrorist organisations based in Afghanistan,”.
Other residents said Maidan Wardak had witnessed heavy fighting over the past two decades and that remnants of the conflict.
Residents of Chah Ab district confronted workers of the mining company and damaged equipment and vehicles, the sources said.
