About four months ago, the Taliban brought 481 Panjshiri youths into the police after a decree by their leader.
The diplomat, Harish Kumar, arrived in Kabul from India on Aug. 13 but was told to leave just four days.
No details were immediately available on the cause of the fire, possible casualties or the extent of the losses.
“I strongly echo UNAMA in calling on the Taliban to lift restrictions on national female staff,” Bennett said.
The Taliban PVPV enforcers also confiscated about 250 employee ID cards, which have not yet been returned, the sources said.
