A large fire swept through a market at the Spin Boldak–Chaman border crossing between Afghanistan and Pakistan on Friday afternoon, damaging goods stored by traders from both countries, according to witnesses.
The blaze began in a food warehouse at the busy commercial hub on the Pakistani side of the border in Chaman, Balochistan Province, local sources said.
No details were immediately available on the cause of the fire, possible casualties or the extent of the losses.
The Spin Boldak–Chaman crossing is one of the busiest trade and transit points between Afghanistan and Pakistan, handling thousands of travelers and commercial trucks daily.
