Afghanistan secures narrow victory over Ireland in second T20 match

Afghanistan clinched a 10-run win against Ireland in the second match of the T20 series, evening the series at 1-1.

The match took place at Sharjah Cricket Stadium, UAE, on Sunday night. Winning the toss, Afghanistan opted to bat first. Despite an early stumble to 14-4, contributions from Mohammad Nabi with 59 runs off 38 balls and Sediq Atal with 35 runs off 32 balls, along with Rashid Khan’s explosive 25 runs off 12 balls, set a target of 153 for Ireland.

Ireland’s Gareth Delany nearly bridged the gap with 39 runs off 18 balls in the final over, pushing the team’s total to 142. Captain Rashid Khan led the bowling attack, taking 4 wickets for 14 runs.

Afghanistan had previously lost the first match of the series by 38 runs. The teams are set to face off in their third and final match tomorrow.
