Uzbekistan delegation targets economic ties boost in Kabul visit, says ministry

Uzbekistan’s Foreign Ministry said Wednesday that its delegation, led by Foreign Minister Bakhtiyor Saidov, concentrated on enhancing economic relationships during a visit to Kabul on Tuesday.

The delegation’s discussions emphasized cooperation across multiple sectors, with a special focus on improving economic ties and establishing favorable conditions for business communities.

“The sides covered the broad agenda of cooperation in many areas. The parties paid particular attention to boosting economic ties, creating the most favorable conditions for business communities to have better engagements with each other,” the ministry stated.

During the visit, Uzbekistan’s representatives met with various Taliban officials, including Chief Minister Hassan Akhund, Deputy Chief Ministers Abdul Salam Hanafi and Abdul Ghani Baradar, Foreign Minister Amir Khan Muttaqi, Interior Minister Sirajuddin Haqqani, and Commerce Minister Nooruddin Azizi.

The Taliban, in their statement, highlighted that Interior Minister Haqqani, in his meeting with Uzbekistan’s Foreign Minister, emphasized the importance of strengthening “bilateral relations” and collaborative economic projects.
