FC Copenhagen aims to overcome odds against Manchester City in Champions League

FC Copenhagen’s coach, Jacob Neestrup, expressed determination on Tuesday to mount a strong challenge against Manchester City in the upcoming Champions League last-16 second leg, despite facing a significant deficit.

After a 3-1 loss in the first leg at Copenhagen, Neestrup acknowledged the formidable challenge of competing against what he considers the world’s top team.

“The task we’re facing is close to impossible,” he said.

Neestrup remains optimistic, emphasizing the importance of perseverance and belief. “It doesn’t matter if we’re 3-1 down, we will keep on trying and trying, and everyone is going to be filled with the belief that we can do this,” he told reporters. He stressed the significance of a strong performance, regardless of the outcome. “We’re not going to throw the towel in the ring here.”

Manchester City, the defending champions, recently secured a 3-1 victory over rivals Manchester United and are just one point behind Liverpool in the Premier League standings.
