T20 cricket season opener set to launch in Kandahar

KANDAHAR, Afghanistan — The 12th edition of the Najeebullah Tarakai PwDs Regional T20 Tournament is set to commence on March 1, 2024, in Kandahar province. The tournament, featuring five regional teams, will follow a round-robin format from March 1 to March 8.

A total of 13 matches will be played over the eight-day period. The teams, including Mis Ainak, Band-e-Amir, Amo, Bost, and Speen Ghar, will each play against one another in the initial stage.

The top four teams will advance to the semi-finals, with the winners proceeding to the final match. Speen Ghar Region enters as the defending champion of this year’s event.

The Najibullah Taraki PwDs Regional T20 Tournament 2024 marks the third domestic cricket event of the year and will be followed by the Mirwais Neka Regional Three-Day tournament in April.
