EU special envoy, Indonesian FM discuss education for women in Afghanistan

BRUSSELS — European Union Special Envoy Thomas Niklasson met with Retno Marsudi, Indonesia’s foreign minister, in Brussels to discuss the situation in Afghanistan, including the importance of education for all.

During their meeting, Niklasson emphasized their discussions centered on “the situation in Afghanistan, the importance of international engagement, education opportunities for all, and our joint intention to work toward a constructive United Nations meeting in Doha, Qatar, later this month.”

Marsudi noted they “compared notes on various issues, including the education for Afghan women.”
