Journalist Rohullah Sangar released from Taliban custody

Rohullah Sangar, a journalist based in Parwan province in central Afghanistan, was released from Taliban custody on Tuesday, as reported by the Afghanistan Journalists Center.

Sangar, an employee of TOLOnews, was detained by the Taliban intelligence in Charikar City, the provincial capital of Parwan, on Sunday, according to the Center.

The Taliban have yet to provide an explanation for his arrest.

The Afghanistan Journalists Center also noted that at least two other journalists remain in Taliban detention. These include Abdul Rahim Mohammadi of Tamdan TV and Sultan Ali Jawadi of Nasim Radio.

The Center has called for the immediate release of all journalists currently imprisoned by the Taliban.
