Sources confirm death of Panjshir resident in Taliban custody

Multiple sources from Panjshir have confirmed the death of Abdul Habib, a resident of the province who had been detained by the Taliban a year ago.

The sources indicated that the clothing belonging to the Panjshir resident was handed over to his family on Monday. They were informed that he had died while incarcerated and had already been laid to rest.

Prior to his apprehension, Abdul Habib served as a security guard at the EMERGENCY hospital in the Anaba district in Panjshir province, according to the sources. His place of residence was Feraj village within the province.

The Taliban has not commented on the matter up to this point.

This comes as United Nations reports have asserted that the Taliban has committed human rights violations in Panjshir. Nevertheless, the Taliban has rejected the findings from these reports.
