Amo Region secured a commanding eight-wicket victory over Bost Region on Monday in the e& Regional List A Tournament after restricting Bost to 159 runs and comfortably chasing down the target in Nangarhar.
After winning the toss at the Ghazi Amanullah Khan Cricket Ground, Amo elected to field first and quickly took control of the match through a balanced bowling performance.
Mohammad Nabi Miakhil and Mohammad Saleem Safi claimed three wickets each, while Sharafuddin Ashraf and Gulbadin Naib added two wickets apiece as Bost Region were bowled out for 159 in the first innings.
Najibullah Zadran provided the main resistance for Bost with 68 runs, but received limited support from the rest of the batting lineup.
In reply, Amo Region reached the target with eight wickets in hand, led by Abdul Malik’s 75 and a steady contribution of 45 from Imran Mir.
Karim Janat was the most effective bowler for Bost, finishing with figures of 2 for 31, but Amo’s batting lineup completed the chase with little difficulty.
Mohammad Nabi Miakhil was named Player of the Match after returning figures of 3 for 18 in a decisive opening spell that dismantled Bost’s top order.
The victory gives Amo Region its first win of the 2026 tournament, which is being held in Nangarhar and features Afghanistan’s leading regional one-day teams.
The competition continued Tuesday with Speenghar Region scheduled to face Band-e-Amir Region in the tournament’s third match.
