Abdul Karim Badakhshi, Afghanistan’s mixed martial artist, was defeated by his Spanish opponent in a championship bout held in Barcelona on Saturday night.
Badakhshi entered the cage competing for the title of the WAW Fighting Championship, an organization associated with Cristiano Ronaldo. The fight ended in the third round when he was forced to submit.
The 28-year-old fighter now holds a professional record of 7 wins and 4 losses across 11 bouts.
The match marked his return to high-level competition after a year-long absence. His previous fight, in October of last year, ended in victory against Giovanni Fernandez of France at a KOK event in the 62-kilogram division.
