Fazl-Karim Turkman, a weightlifter representing Afghanistan, secured three bronze medals in the +110kg category at the sixth edition of the Fajr International Weightlifting Tournament held in Iran.
Turkman lifted a combined total of 305 kilograms, earning him third place overall in the competition. His performance marked a rare international podium finish for Afghanistan in the sport.
The Fajr Cup, hosted annually by Iran, brought together athletes from across the region, including competitors from Uzbekistan, Tajikistan, Turkmenistan, Saudi Arabia, Iraq, Sri Lanka, Bangladesh, Yemen, and the host nation.
Afghanistan was represented at the tournament by three athletes and one coach.
