Afghanistan U19 defeats India A by 65 runs to reach Youth Tri-Series final

Afghanistan U19 delivered a commanding all-round performance to defeat India A U19 by 65 runs in the sixth match of the Youth Triangular Series 2025 on Thursday, securing their third win of the tournament and booking a spot in the final.

Batting first at the BCCI Centre of Excellence in Bengaluru, Afghanistan Future Stars posted a competitive total of 233 for 8 in their 50 overs. Azizullah Miakhil top-scored with a fluent 60 off 65 balls, including four boundaries and sixes apiece. He was well supported by captain Mahboob Khan, who made a steady 50 off 82 deliveries, and Khalid Ahmadzai, who chipped in with 30. Nasratullah Nooristani added a crucial unbeaten 28 off 21 balls in the death overs to push the total past 230.

In response, India A U19 were bundled out for 168. Afghanistan’s bowlers shared the spoils in a clinical display, with Salam Khan Ahmadzai (3 for 35), Rohullah Arab (3 for 34), and Abdul Aziz Khan (3 for 48) each claiming three wickets. Their disciplined and attacking bowling left the Indian side unable to build partnerships, despite a modest start.

The 65-run win marks Afghanistan U19’s third victory in the tri-nation youth tournament, putting them in strong form ahead of the final.

Both teams will meet again in the series final on Sunday, November 30, at the same venue.
