Taliban and Pakistani forces clashed again Friday afternoon in Kunar province in the east of the country, local sources said, marking the latest in a series of border confrontations this week.
The fighting erupted around noon in Dangam district, the sources said. There were no immediate reports of casualties.
Since Thursday morning, the two sides have exchanged fire several times in Narai district. One Taliban member, identified as Zarin Khan from Laghman province, was killed in those earlier clashes, according to local information.
The United Nations said in a September report that it has documented 14 border clashes between Taliban and Pakistani forces so far this year.
