A former member Afghanistan’s security forces under the previous government was arrested by the Taliban in Kabul, local sources told Amu.
The man, identified as Abdul Hamid Jonbesh, was originally from Abdullah Khil village in Panjshir province and had recently returned from Iran, according to the sources.
They said he was arrested Thursday, Sept. 25, in the Qowaye Markaz area of Kabul and taken to an undisclosed location.
Family members told Amu that they have not been informed of his whereabouts.
Taliban have not commented on the reported arrest.
This comes as UN in its quarterly report said it had recorded four extrajudicial killings, nine arbitrary arrests, and six instances of torture or mistreatment involving former Afghan officials and military personnel.
