Taliban cut fiber-optic internet access in Parwan

The Taliban governor’s office in Parwan announced that fiber-optic internet service has been shut down in the province, making it the 16th in Afghanistan without access.

Hekmat Shamim, spokesperson for the Taliban governor in Parwan, wrote Sunday on X that internet service through fiber optics would be completely cut off.

The move has drawn strong criticism from residents and activists.
