Three people were killed and four others injured in a traffic accident Monday on the Hairatan–Mazar-i-Sharif highway, Taliban’s police command in Balkh said.
It added that the crash occurred when a vehicle veered off the road. The injured were taken to Abu Ali Sina Balkhi Regional Hospital.
The statement did not provide further details on the cause of the accident.
Traffic accidents have been on the rise across Afghanistan’s highways in recent weeks. Last week, 81 people were killed in a deadly crash in Herat province.
