The Afghanistan Cricket Board announced the squads for the five regional teams that will compete in the Regional List A Tournament 2025, which begins Aug. 20 in Khost province.
National players Hashmatullah Shahidi, Rahmat Shah Zurmati, Yamin Ahmadzai, Afsar Khan Zazai and Ikram Alikhil will captain Band-e-Amir, Bost, Amo, Mis-e-Ainak and Speenghar, respectively, during the 21-day event. Each team will play six matches in the first round before the final on Sept. 6.
The tournament will open with Speenghar facing Amo on Aug. 20. Mis-e-Ainak, Bost and Band-e-Amir will also compete in the round-robin stage, which features 16 matches across 18 days.

All five teams include national-level players, providing the board an opportunity to give young and emerging cricketers exposure in competitive conditions.

According to ACB, the Regional List A Tournament is considered a key part of Afghanistan’s domestic cricket structure, helping to develop talent and strengthen the sport’s foundation in the country.
