KABUL — Taliban in a statement on Sunday condemned the United States’ airstrikes on Iran’s nuclear facilities, warning that the attacks threaten to destabilize the region.
“The violation of the national sovereignty and territorial integrity of the Islamic Republic of Iran is unacceptable,” the statement said, calling on all parties to respect international principles and norms.
The statement, posted by Taliban-run foreign ministry, urged the warring sides to forgo further escalation and pursue diplomatic channels instead. “We call on the involved parties to allow the space for peaceful solutions and to use diplomatic methods to resolve disputes,” the statement added.
The response comes amid escalating U.S.-Iran tensions following joint American and Israeli strikes on Iran’s nuclear infrastructure, which have sparked concern among regional powers and underscored the risk of a broader conflict.
