Afghan national killed in Israeli strike in Iran, sources say

۱۸ کلن افغان وګړی چې پر ایران د اسراییلي ځواکونو په بریدونو کې وزل شوی دی.

An 18-year-old Afghan national was killed in recent Israeli airstrikes in Iran, and at least three other Afghan citizens were wounded, according to sources familiar with the incident.

The young man, identified as Abdul Wali, was originally from Murghab district in Ghor Province and had traveled to Iran roughly six months ago in search of work amid economic hardship, the sources said. He was reportedly struck along with several companions during a recent Israeli military operation.

His father, Abdul Ghani, confirmed the death, saying his son was killed on Tuesday in Iran.

The reports come amid rising concerns about the safety of Afghan migrants in Iran, especially as cross-border tensions between Israel and Iran escalate.

Sources said many Afghan nationals currently living in Iran are part of vulnerable populations, including former human rights activists, journalists, and women’s rights defenders who fled Afghanistan following the Taliban’s return to power. Many face serious security threats and cannot return home.

Humanitarian organizations have warned that displaced Afghans caught in regional conflict zones face increasing risk with limited options for relocation or protection.
