KABUL — Dozens of residents staged demonstrations across several neighborhoods in Kabul on Friday in a show of solidarity with Palestinians in Gaza.
The protesters carried Palestinian and Taliban flags and chanted slogans denouncing Israel.
A day earlier, the Taliban had urged mosque imams and the public to take part in the rallies.
Footage shared on social media showed participants marching through streets and congregating near mosques following prayers.
The demonstrations come amid growing public anger in parts of the region over Israel’s military campaign in Gaza, which has drawn condemnation from a number of governments and grassroots groups.
