The United Kingdom’s Charge d’Affaires to Afghanistan, Robert C. Dickson, condemned an attack by ISIS-Khorasan on the Hazara community in Daikundi province, calling it a “heinous act.”
In a statement posted on X, Dickson expressed his condolences to the victims and their families.
“This heinous act is another affront to those striving for peace and the protection of all in Afghanistan, including its minority communities,” he said.
Fourteen people, all residents of Daikundi, were killed and six others wounded on Thursday when gunmen affiliated with ISIS-K opened fire on pilgrims returning from a shrine in Karbala.
