Afghanistan announces T20 squad for 2024 World Cup

The Afghanistan Cricket Board announced Tuesday its 15-member squad for the upcoming ICC Men’s T20 World Cup, scheduled for June 2024 in the West Indies and the USA. Rashid Khan will lead the team.

Rashid Khan will spearhead the spin department, supported by Mujeeb Ur Rahman, Nangyal Kharoti, Noor Ahmad, and Mohammad Nabi.

Fareed Ahmad, Fazalhaq Farooqi, and Naveen-ul-Haq will continue as Afghanistan’s primary fast bowlers.

The squad includes Ibrahim Zadran, Rahmanullah Gurbaz (wk), Najibullah Zadran, Azmatullah Omarzai, Mohammad Nabi, Mohammad Ishaq, Karim Janat, Gulbadin Naib, Nangyal Kharoti, Rashid Khan (c), Noor Ahmad, Mujeeb Ur Rahman, Fazalhaq Farooqi, Naveen-ul-Haq, and Fareed Ahmad Malik.
