Afghanistan clinched the T20 series against Ireland with a 57-run victory in the third and final match, securing the series 2-1.
Winning the toss and opting to bat first, Afghanistan set a target of 156 runs, losing seven wickets. Ibrahim Zadran led the scoring with 72 runs off 51 balls, with Mohammad Ishaq contributing 27 runs from 22 deliveries.
Ireland faced a tough start, losing early wickets to Naveen-ul-Haq in the second over. Azmatullah Omarzai emerged as the top bowler for Afghanistan, taking four wickets for nine runs in four overs.
Naveen-ul-Haq also impressed with three wickets for 10 runs in 2.2 overs.
The series, hosted at Sharjah Cricket Stadium, began with Afghanistan losing the first match by 38 runs but rebounded to win the subsequent two matches by margins of 10 and 57 runs, respectively.
