PALLEKELE, Sri Lanka — Sri Lanka’s captain Kusal Mendis won the toss and chose to bat in the second one-day international against Afghanistan on Sunday at Pallekele.
Sri Lanka made a lineup change, replacing fast bowler Dushmantha Chameera, sidelined with a quadricep injury, with Asitha Fernando.
Afghanistan adjusted its team by adding Qais Ahmed for Noor Ahmad to strengthen its spin bowling.
Sri Lanka leads the three-match series after a 42-run victory in the opener, marked by Pathum Nissanka’s achievement as the first Sri Lankan to score a double century in an ODI.
