The Afghanistan Cricket Board announced on Wednesday that the Afghanistan National Cricket Team is set to embark on a tour to India for a thrilling three-match T20I series in early January 2024.
The scheduled dates for the T20I matches are the 11th, 14th, and 17th of January.
Mohali will host the opening match on January 11th, followed by the second and third matches on January 14th and 17th in Indore and Bengaluru, respectively.
While Afghanistan and India have previously faced each other in various ACC and ICC events, this upcoming series marks a significant milestone as the two nations engage in a multi-match white-ball series for the first time.
Afghanistan’s recent visit to India for the ICC Men’s Cricket World Cup 2023 proved successful as they secured the 6th position on the points table.
Their victories against England, Pakistan, Sri Lanka, and Bangladesh during the tournament added to the anticipation and excitement surrounding this upcoming T20I series.
