Israel expands ground operations in Gaza

The Israeli military released footage on Monday, October 30, depicting what it claimed to be strikes carried out in the Gaza Strip, signaling an expansion of its ground operations in the region.

Reuters says it was unable to independently verify the exact location or the date when these videos were recorded.

According to the Israeli military, these operations were launched to target “dozens of terrorists who had barricaded themselves in buildings and tunnels, attempting to attack the troops.” The military reported hitting 600 terror targets, which included weapons depots, numerous anti-tank missile launch positions, as well as hideouts and staging areas used by Hamas.

Israel initiated its bombardment of the Gaza Strip in response to a devastating attack by the Islamist group Hamas on October 7, resulting in the loss of at least 1,400 Israeli lives. Nearly 8,000 people have been killed in Israeli attacks in Gaza.
