Mis-e-Ainak crushes Band-e-Amir by eight wickets

Mis-e-Ainak Knights cruised to an eight-wicket victory over Band-e-Amir Dragons in the Shpageeza Cricket League in Khost on Friday, chasing down a target of 115 in fewer than 10 overs.

Captain Rahmanullah Gurbaz struck 52 from 30 balls, while Khalid Taniwal remained unbeaten on 53 as the Knights raced to 116 for two in 9.4 overs.

Band-e-Amir Dragons had earlier been bowled out for 114 in 19.3 overs after struggling against the Knights’ bowling attack.

Zia Ur Rahman Sharifi took three wickets for 12 runs in 2.3 overs and was named player of the match. Mujeeb Ur Rahman also claimed three wickets, conceding 22 runs in his four overs.

Gurbaz was named the match’s stylish player for his half-century, while Taniwal hit three sixes, the most by a batter in the match.

The victory gave Mis-e-Ainak Knights a dominant win in the 11th edition of the Shpageeza Cricket League, Afghanistan’s leading domestic Twenty20 competition.
