Afghanistan U19 team in Zimbabwe for Tri-Nation Youth ODI series

Afghanistan’s under-19 cricket team has arrived in Zimbabwe to take part in a Tri-Nation Youth One-Day International series as part of its preparations for the 2026 ICC Men’s Under-19 Cricket World Cup, the Afghanistan Cricket Board (ACB) said.

The tournament, branded as the Afghanistan Future Stars series, will feature Afghanistan U19, hosts Zimbabwe U19 and Pakistan U19, with matches scheduled in Harare from Dec. 25 to Jan. 6.

Afghanistan will open its campaign against Zimbabwe U19 on Dec. 25 at Harare Sports Club. The team will then face Pakistan U19 on Dec. 27 at the same venue.

Further group matches are scheduled for Dec. 31 and Jan. 2 at Sunrise Sports Club, with the final set to be played on Jan. 6 at Old Hararians Sports Club, according to the fixture list released by the ACB.

The series is intended to give Afghanistan’s young players competitive match exposure ahead of the ICC Men’s Under-19 Cricket World Cup in 2026, the ACB said.
