The Afghanistan Cricket Board (ACB) announced Monday that the national under‑19 side will travel to India for a Tri‑Youth One‑Day International (ODI) series from Nov. 17‑30 in Bengaluru, featuring two Indian squads.
The under‑19 Afghanistan team, dubbed the “Future Stars” by the ACB, is slated to open its campaign on Nov. 19 against India U19 B. The tournament format features a double round‑robin—each of the three teams plays four matches—with the top two advancing to the final on Nov. 30.
Naseeb Khan, the ACB’s chief executive, said the series follows a preparatory tour of Bangladesh and is part of the build‑up to both the 2026 ICC U19 Men’s Cricket World Cup and the ACC U19 Asia Cup. “The World Cup is approaching,” he said, “and we have been preparing our team for the past two to three months through rigorous camps in Khost and Nangarhar provinces.”
The Tri‑Youth ODI series represents a significant opportunity for Afghanistan’s young cricketers to gain international exposure in a regionally competitive setting.
The full schedule released by the ACB is as follows:
Nov. 17: India U19 A vs India U19 B;
Nov. 19: India U19 B vs Afghanistan U19;
Nov. 21: India U19 A vs Afghanistan U19;
Nov. 23: India U19 A vs India U19 B;
Nov. 25: India U19 B vs Afghanistan U19;
Nov. 27: India U19 A vs Afghanistan U19;
Nov. 30: Final.
All matches will be held at the Centre of Excellence in Bengaluru, the ACB said.
Afghanistan’s under‑19 programme has been gaining momentum despite ongoing challenges. The upcoming tour gives the squad a platform to test their skills ahead of major global youth events.
