Two members of a family were killed and a woman injured in a traffic accident in Nangarhar province, Taliban police said Tuesday.
The crash occurred Monday night in the Chaluza area of Chaparhar district when a Corolla car collided with a motorcycle, said Talban police spokesperson Tayeb Hamad.
He said the victims and the injured woman were members of the same family. The woman was taken to a hospital, but no details were provided on her condition.
He attributed the accident to speeding and reckless driving.
This comes as traffic accidents have killed dozens over the past few months. In the first 10 months of the last solar year, which started in March 2024, there were 639 traffic accidents nationwide, resulting in about 770 people killed and 2,008 others injured, according to Taliban figures.
In Ghazni province, 499 traffic accidents over 14 months caused 190 deaths and 894 injuries.
