The Taliban’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs says it summoned Pakistan’s ambassador in Kabul on Thursday and delivered a formal protest note in response to airstrikes carried out by the Pakistani military in eastern Afghanistan.

In a statement, the ministry confirmed that Pakistani forces launched overnight airstrikes on parts of Khost and Nangarhar provinces, killing three civilians and wounding seven others.

The Taliban condemned the attacks as a violation of Afghanistan’s airspace and described them as a “clear breach of national sovereignty and a provocative act.”

The airstrikes come amid ongoing tensions between the two sides, with Pakistan repeatedly expressing concern over the presence of Tehrik-e-Taliban Pakistan (TTP) fighters on Afghanistan’s soil. Islamabad has urged the Taliban to take action against the group.

The Pakistani government has not commented on the reported airstrikes.
