A young woman and a young man were shot and killed in eastern Afghanistan’s Nangarhar province, apparently by a relative of the woman, according to local sources.
The killings took place on June 4 in the Bazarak area of Kuz Kunar district, sources added.
According to the sources, the two had been involved in a romantic relationship. The woman was allegedly planning to leave home with the man when they were confronted by her brother, who then shot and killed both of them.
Taliban have not publicly commented on the incident.
The killings add to a growing number of violent incidents reported across the country in recent months.
