Afghanistan and Tatarstan private sectors ink $183M in business deals

The private sectors of Afghanistan and Tatarstan signed business agreements Thursday worth $183 million, the Taliban’s Ministry of Industry and Commerce announced.

The deals, inked at a conference in Kabul, cover oil and construction projects. Attending were Taliban Industry Minister Nooruddin Azizi and Tatarstan’s Deputy Prime Minister and Industry Minister, Vladimir Korobchenko.

According to the statement, Korobchenko invited the Taliban delegation to participate in an upcoming oil expo set for August 26 in Tatarstan, and welcomed them to visit the region’s Chamber of Commerce and Investment.

Over the past three days, the Tatarstan delegation has held economic and trade talks with Taliban officials in Kabul.
