The Torkham border crossing, a key trade and transit route between Afghanistan and Pakistan, was reopened after four days of closure on Thursday morning, sources said Thursday.

The border crossing was closed following clashes between Pakistani forces and Taliban.

According to sources, the clash erupted when Taliban forces attempted to establish a checkpoint in the Ghoraki area.

Taliban-run Ministry of Interior said that three civilians, including a woman and two children, were killed by gunfire from Pakistani forces during the clashes.

Taliban also claimed to have destroyed two Pakistani border posts in retaliation.
