KABUL, Afghanistan — A three-day exhibition, titled Treasures of Afghanistan, was opened on Wednesday in the central province of Ghazni, showcasing a variety of women’s handicrafts and products from numerous companies and factories across the country.
The exhibition features 58 booths, 20 of which are dedicated to women entrepreneurs.
“This exhibition, held here in Ghazni, displays women’s handicrafts as well as products from domestic companies and factories. Of the 58 booths, 20 are run by women,” said Maryam, a businesswoman exhibiting her handicrafts. She noted that recent restrictions by the Taliban have reduced women’s access to the market, adversely affecting her business and those of other female entrepreneurs.
Some Ghazni residents who visited the exhibition expressed their appreciation for such events, emphasizing their impact on promoting local handicrafts and products.
“This kind of exhibition is important for introducing and promoting Ghazni’s handicrafts and products,” said Mohammad Agha, a local resident. Ismatullah, another visitor, echoed this sentiment.
The organizers of the exhibition believe that such events help with marketing efforts for local traders.
“Exhibitions like this provide valuable marketing opportunities for traders,” said Khyber Hiwadmal, the organizer of the Treasures of Afghanistan exhibition in Ghazni.
The Treasures of Afghanistan exhibition is scheduled to continue for another two days.
