Turkish Airlines resumes flights to Afghanistan

Turkish Airlines has resumed its flights to Afghanistan after a three-year hiatus.

The airline made its first flight from Turkey to Kabul on Tuesday morning.

Cenk Unal, the chargé d’affaires at the Turkish Embassy in Kabul, stated at the inauguration ceremony that the resumption of Turkish Airlines flights to Kabul is a significant step in developing “Ankara’s relations with Kabul”.

Turkish Airlines suspended its flights to Afghanistan following the Taliban’s takeover of Afghanistan in August 2021.

Many airline companies halted their operations after August 2021, with some including Turkish Airlines and Qatar Airways, have resumed their operations in Kabul.
