KABUL, Afghanistan — Taliban’s Supreme Court announced that two individuals were publicly flogged in Ghazni on charges of theft.
According to a Taliban statement, each individual was sentenced to 39 lashes and one year in prison.
The continuation of public punishments comes as the Taliban recently flogged two others in Kandahar and Kabul.
Taliban has flogged hundreds of individuals in various provinces since December 2022. This action by the Taliban has faced harsh criticism from international organizations.
