Afghanistan: Roof collapse kills woman, five children in Farah

FARAH, Afghanistan — A roof collapse in Farah province’s Bakwa district killed at least six people, including a woman and five children, on Tuesday night, according to a Taliban official.

The incident occurred during a wedding party, gathering several families together when the tragedy struck.

The provincial disaster management spokesman reported that nine others were injured in the collapse.

He attributed the collapse to the deteriorated condition of the house, highlighting the structural vulnerabilities in the region. Afghanistan is known as one of the countries most susceptible to natural disasters.
