Local sources reported that clashes erupted between Taliban and Pakistani border troops on Monday evening along the border in Zazai Aryoub district of Paktia province in eastern Afghanistan.
The confrontation lasted approximately one and a half hours.
Sources also indicated that the Pakistani military fired shells into residential areas during the conflict. No casualties have been reported so far.
Taliban has not yet commented on the incident. Since its return to power, the Taliban has periodically engaged in armed clashes with neighboring countries, including Pakistan and Iran.
