Taliban appoints ‘delegation’ to investigate Badakhshan protests

Taliban has appointed a delegation to investigate an anti-Taliban protest that has continued for a second consecutive day in the northeastern province of Badakhshan.

Led by the Taliban’s chief army chief, Fasihuddin Fitrat, the delegation was announced by Taliban spokesman Zabiullah Mujahid in a statement.

The statement also mentioned that poppy has been cultivated in some areas of Badakhshan.

This follows gatherings of dozens of people in the Argo district of Badakhshan province, echoing a similar movement by residents of the provincial Darayim district.
