Nearly 2,000 Afghan migrants return home from Iran, Pakistan

The Taliban’s Ministry of Refugees and Repatriation reported that 1,719 Afghan migrants have returned from Iran, and Pakistan deported 148 Afghan refugees on Tuesday.

The ministry detailed that the migrants from Iran entered Afghanistan through the Islam Qala border, comprising both deportees and those returning voluntarily. Additionally, a statement from the ministry highlighted that 28 families, totaling 148 individuals, were forcibly deported from Pakistan on Tuesday.

This development occurs amid reports that over half a million Afghan immigrants have been forcibly deported from Pakistan in the last six months.
