Taliban signs contract with Russian firm for new segment of Khwaf-Herat railway project

The Taliban-run railway authority announced Thursday the signing of a contract with Russian company Gamma for the fourth segment of the second phase of the Khwaf-Herat railway project.

The project, spanning 47 kilometers and valued at $35 million, is expected to be completed within two years.

This latest segment will extend from the Robat Parian area to the provincial airport and industrial town of Herat, marking a significant addition to the Khwaf-Herat railway line.
