Afghanistan A team to tour Sri Lanka in April for cricket matches

The Afghanistan Cricket Board (ACB) announced today that Afghanistan’s youth cricket team, known as Afghan Abdalyan, will tour Sri Lanka for a series of matches. The tour, scheduled from April 28 to May 14, includes a four-day match and five One Day matches against Sri Lanka A.

The Afghan Abdalyan A team will arrive in Sri Lanka on April 25.

The first One Day match against Sri Lanka A is set for April 28, followed by additional One Day matches on April 30, May 3, May 5, and May 7. A one-off four-day match is slated for May 11 to May 14. The venues for these matches are yet to be confirmed.

Naseeb Khan, CEO of the ACB, expressed satisfaction with the Afghan Abdalyan squad’s participation in bilateral and multi-nation events. He emphasized the importance of providing exposure to the A team, which serves as a backup for the senior national team.

“The ACB is committed to facilitating maximum exposure for our young, talented cricketers in the Afghan Abdalyan squad,” Khan stated.
